Peekskill staff explores floating solar on reservoirs; peers and pilots under review

Dave Rambo said staff had conference calls with counterparts in other municipalities and engineers to understand regulatory and operational hurdles. He noted that Sayreville, N.J., operates a reservoir pilot and that staff will speak with Sayreville officials to ask about permitting and lessons learned. "We're trying to get as much information as we can so we make the right decision," Rambo said, and added that staff will pursue visits and calls to better understand whether floating solar is suitable for Peekskill’s water‑supply reservoirs.
