"As a condition of receiving these funds, the city is needing to provide a match of $17,175," Zamora said. He then described a second, 3‑C‑2 award for hot homebound lunches that requires a $4,708 city match and carries $2,173 in NSIP funds with no match requirement.
Zamora requested the council accept both contracts and "move to resolution" so the city can finalize funding. Council members asked only clarifying questions about past-year amounts and budgeting; staff said match funds are set aside in annual budgets and reimbursements are recorded as revenue. The deputy mayor and attendees noted 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of Peekskill’s senior meal program — a milestone staff said the city will celebrate next month.
The item will be returned as a resolution next week for formal action.
