Council to monitor county’s proposed changes to Measure A local‑solutions fund

City staff told the council that a motion proposed at the county level to restructure homelessness services and change how Measure A (formerly Measure H) funds are returned to cities was pulled from the board calendar for additional outreach. The city’s packet included the subregional COG letter and staff highlighted that county leaders said they would further refine the motion after more consultation with cities.
“They decided that they were not going to put the motion on the 19th, and they were going to do further outreach with cities, COGs, elected officials, and whatnot, to gain a better perspective on how they could refine the motion,” staff said. Mayor Derringer and council members expressed concern about potential changes to the Local Solutions Fund and asked staff to monitor developments and bring the item back if the county reintroduces the motion.
Council voted to receive and file the staff update and asked that staff quickly report any substantial revisions so the city can determine whether to respond to the county process.
