Christian Horvath, assistant to the city manager and project clerk, said county plan checks and periodic inspections confirmed the project met applicable ADA grades and construction standards. Dustin McNabb, speaking for the courts club, praised the project but raised two concerns he said might affect accessibility: paver infill at one court entrance that may not meet ADA surfacing expectations and a 39‑inch drop adjacent to a ramp landing that could warrant railings. “There’s about a 4 foot space between the concrete work that the contractor did and court 1 entrance... it doesn't appear to be ADA compliant,” McNabb said during public comment.
Staff replied that LA County had reviewed plans during bidding and had inspected multiple stages of the work; the council accepted the project by voice vote. The council and staff also discussed follow‑up options if the public or inspectors determine finish items need correction under warranty.
