City staff presented the code compliance quarterly report for Jan. 1–Mar. 31, 2026, saying eight new cases were opened during the quarter and all were closed during that period. The code compliance officer is managing remaining open matters; four cases were assigned to the city attorney for review, bringing the total active attorney cases to eight.
Staff told the council that the 79 Eastfield matter is in receivership and in escrow; proceeds from a receivership sale are distributed by the court in a typical order (receiver costs first, then the city's costs/fees, then mortgage holders, and finally the property owner). Staff said they will report amounts in a future quarterly update when sale proceeds are known.
