Council approves routine resolutions including street closures, contracts and grant applications
Summary
At its Aug. 12 meeting the council passed a package of routine resolutions (J1–J17) including street‑closure authorizations, board appointments, a street‑resurfacing contract award, CDBG application authorizations and an RFP to hire branding consultants; most votes were unanimous.
The Council unanimously adopted a set of resolutions covering permitting, appointments, contracts and grant applications. Highlights included: authorizing a street closure for a September event (Resolution J1), approving a November turkey‑trot route (J2), appointing members to advisory boards (J3–J6), awarding BIN 2024‑003 for street resurfacing to Laura Lee Industries LLC (J7), accepting a Westchester County Youth Bureau summer employment grant (J8), and authorizing submission of CDBG applications and related matching‑fund identification (J9).
The council also authorized a request for proposals for a logo and branding consultant to support DRI marketing and branding work (J10); authorized agreements with CPL (planning/zoning consultant) and Jean Freedman (zoning review services) for planning department services (J11); approved an application for technical assistance through the Urban Land Institute (J12); set public hearings for text‑amendment proposals (J13 and J15); authorized a retainer with outside counsel for dangerous‑building matters (J14); and renewed an intermunicipal prisoner transportation reimbursement agreement with Westchester County (J16). Council also authorized a letter in support of Westchester County’s NYSERDA Clean Mobilities application (J17). Most motions were moved, seconded and carried without recorded opposition.
