RTC chair election tabled as meeting proceeds with multiple budget items deferred
Summary
At the Feb. 19 Regional Transportation Commission meeting in White Pine County, the election of a new chair was postponed for lack of a full board; several FY2027 RTC and public-transit budget items were also tabled.
Recording Secretary Lindsey Jacobson called the Regional Transportation Commission meeting to order at 8:05 a.m. at the White Pine County Library and led the Pledge of Allegiance. The commission proceeded through the agenda but did not vote on a replacement chair because not all board members were present.
The agenda’s item to "elect a new chairman for the RTC board" was explicitly tabled; there was no motion recorded to move forward with an election. Several other budget items on the agenda were also deferred to a future meeting. Those present included Tim Pauley (WPC Commission), Eric Trujillo (Member at Large), BJ Almberg (Basin Engineering), Mike Cracraft (City Public Works), Martin Troutt (WPC Road Superintendent), Janette Trask (City of Ely) and NDOT representatives John Rimington and Robert Thran. Jacobson stated she would correct an error in the minutes that was pointed out during roll call and minute approval.
The tabled chair-election item means the commission will need to schedule a future meeting with a quorum present to fill the leadership vacancy and take up the outstanding budget items.
