Visitor urges variance for residents and management discretion at Pastime Park

"Tonight, my request is simple. Move forward with implementing the variance option for residents in good standing," she said, asking the council to amend Pastime Park’s campground rules to remove stay limits for village residents and to continue discussion on distinguishing residents from nonresidents. Thomas said she supports allowing residents a two-week head start on reservations and urged council to give the park manager “some reasonable discretion” so rules are applied with common sense instead of strict mandates.
Thomas praised the council’s prior work and proposals discussed in the working session and said the variance and reservation approaches could balance resident access with the park remaining open and welcoming to visitors on fair terms. She closed by thanking the council for their time and commitment.
