Town Manager Krista Johnson summarized the recruitment and selection process and recommended adoption of Resolution 2618 to approve an employment agreement between the town and Raul Ernesto Aguilar for 04/27/2026 through 06/30/2029 and to amend the salary schedule as required for CalPERS reporting. The manager said Aguilar was the top candidate following a thorough process and highlighted his 25-plus years of Marin County law-enforcement experience.
Council adopted the resolution on a motion and recorded affirmative roll-call votes. After the action the manager introduced Chief Aguilar to the audience; Aguilar thanked the council and said he was "committed to leading the department with integrity, accountability, and transparency" and looked forward to working with the community.
