Olmsted Falls council approves multiple vehicle and equipment requisitions totaling more than $500,000

Olmsted Falls City Council on April 14 approved a package of requisitions for vehicles, roadwork and security projects across several departments.
Council voted unanimously to approve a request to purchase an administration vehicle from Montrose Ford for up to $40,202.75 and to authorize a Valley Freightliner 2027 dump/plow truck order not to exceed $240,248.00. The service department also received approval for pavement-marking contracts with JD Striping & Services (miscellaneous markings not to exceed $29,640.13 and edgeline/centerline work not to exceed $23,791.00) and for a Turf Tiger II zero-turn mower for $17,899.00.
Service Director Joe Borczuch told council the Pineway/Bagley project is nearly at Pineway and crews will "begin the restoration after the settling." He said striping work is scheduled for completion in August so it is in place before school resumes.
The council approved a NOPEC-funded security upgrade project for the service and fire departments to Duman’s Lock and Safe not to exceed $24,999.60. Interim Fire Chief Randy Kimbro’s requisitions for generator labor ($10,292.22), a 2026 F-250 truck and upfit ($72,116.76), and a command vehicle and upfit ($52,476.79) also passed on recorded polls (each motion showed 7 ayes, 0 nays).
All requisitions were presented as routine departmental needs and passed without dissent. The approvals together authorize procurement and begin vendor scheduling and expected delivery planning.
