Olmsted Falls City Council voted unanimously March 24 to extend a moratorium on accepting new residential construction applications, setting the moratorium end date as Oct. 8, 2026.
Council Pro-Tempore Megan Coy said the extension will allow newly appointed Planning & Zoning commissioners and recently seated council members additional time to review recommendations and make thoughtful decisions. "The plan is to extend it for another six months in order to address any concerns or changes," Coy said. The resolution was suspended, the reading waived, and adopted by a 7–0 poll vote.
Mayor Chad Gluss and commission members will be expected to provide any recommendations to council as the review proceeds; the resolution allows council to lift the moratorium earlier if warranted. The clerk recorded the formal end date as Oct. 8, 2026. No dissent was recorded during the motion and vote.
