Cameron Duff, Sheridan County administrative director, told commissioners the GPET application period is closed and that requests exceed available funding. Commissioners debated whether to interview applicants or rely solely on written applications.
Duff proposed scheduling GPET application review on the Board’s May 5 regular meeting and said staff will prepare a comprehensive booklet of applications to give members time to review and formulate questions. No final decision on interviewing applicants was made at the April 13 staff meeting.
The plan to review GPET requests at the May 5 meeting will be handled administratively; Duff’s proposal is intended to provide transparency and allow time for questions rather than to pre-determine awards.
