Tom DiStasio told the Board that the annual budget meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 4 at 7 p.m. at the senior center (hybrid) and that the budget referendum is scheduled for May 14. He said a special Board of Finance meeting is likely to be scheduled at about 8:15 p.m. after the referendum to review results and either set the mill rate or consider next steps if voters reject the budget.
Board members asked for clearer presentation slides that separate unassigned fund balance lines from other financing sources and to call out interest income specifically. Chair Houston Putnam Lowry asked whether the slide set reflected changes in the State of Connecticut health care process and whether unions had signaled positions; Tom said he would “need to check with Human Resources and the Board of Education for any updates.”
