County Treasurer Katie Harris told commissioners that counties with national forest lands receive Title 3 payments under the Secure Rural Schools framework and that reauthorization occurred most recently on 12/18/2025. She asked the board to approve a notice of intent to adopt a resolution allocating Federal Forest Reserve/Secure Rural Schools funds and to start the required 45-day public comment period and a public hearing.
Commissioners asked no substantive questions and moved to approve the notice of intent; the motion carried. Treasurer Harris said the notice sets out the comment period and public-hearing schedule required before the county may adopt the resolution allocating funds in accordance with federal distribution rules.
