"Their request is about $22,000… and we're required to make these veterinary expenses to keep the animals helping," S4 said.
Board members discussed packet figures and confirmed the correct total. Supervisor Jones (S6), whose name the chair used when calling for the motion, moved to appropriate $22,748.79; the chair called for a vote and announced the motion carried.
Staff said restitution receipts will offset much of the expense and that accounting will reflect a partial recovery as cases resolve.
