VDOT updates: pipe replacements, surface treatments and plant‑mix paving slated this summer

Miss Worley, speaking for VDOT area headquarters, told the board the district is continuing asphalt repairs and dig‑outs and that temporary patching has been completed on Stony Point, Buckskin Creek and Bell Road pending pipe replacement and final asphalt work.
"We have a pipe replacement plan for tomorrow on Green Street, and one planned for next Thursday on Drunkard Road near 360," she said, adding that secondary mowing contracts must be completed by June 3. She also noted a plant‑mix paving route on Route 38 (about 3.5 miles) expected later this summer and that bids for the Amelia Sidewalks project will be opened next week.
