Board approves Garber Motors site plan with conditions for future crossover access

The Amelia County Board of Supervisors approved a site plan for Garber Motors on Route 360 after staff explained required modifications to comply with the Route 360 Overlay District. Planner Austin (S17) said the county would require the developer to add a note to the plan obligating future interconnection to a truck‑stop crossover if that crossover becomes available, though the proposed entrance is acceptable while the crossover is not yet achievable.
"We're, we're requiring them to put a note on the site plan that in the future, if they are able to get that crossover, they would have to, to get access to the crossover at the truck stop...they would have to use that interconnection," Austin said. Supervisors discussed the traffic study and the developer's outstanding submissions; the board moved and approved the site plan with the noted condition by voice/raised hands.
The approval implements the planning commission recommendations and requires follow‑up documentation before final site plan acceptance. Staff will track and require the interconnection if and when adjacent property development allows it.
