Residents press board over well repairs, sanitation district inequities and pavement work

Multiple residents used the public-comment period to raise infrastructure and billing concerns.

Martin Conkel (speaker 6) thanked the board and the new county administrator for recent improvements in county operations and urged the board to keep progressing. A later commenter who identified himself as "Bob and Life" (speaker 7) described a recent well repair bill and asked where residents outside the sanitation district should submit such claims. He said residents outside the district still pay into county services but worry they then subsidize sanitation-district customers for growth and upkeep. “The residents that's outside the sanitation district is always gonna be digging into their pockets to pay for the people on the inside of the sanitation district until this county comes up with an ordinance that the user pays,” the commenter said.

Board members and staff responded that responsibility depends on whether the failure is on the county side of the meter; operations staff promised to follow up on specific pavement-marking delays and on the question of where to submit well-repair bills. Public works staff explained paving and pavement-marking contracts are handled by separate entities and operations will improve cross-referencing in 2026 to avoid resurfacing without appropriate striping. Residents also reported recurring pothole/culvert failures on specific roads and asked for pipe replacement rather than repeated patching.
