County staff and counsel reported that the judge's attorney requested schematic drawings for the courthouse project; the board agreed it would be in the county’s interest to enter an interim agreement with design consultants (English / Moseley) to provide those drawings.
County counsel recommended limiting the interim agreement to the courthouse schematics requested by the judge’s attorney and not to include the sheriff’s office at this stage. The board concurred and directed staff to proceed with the preliminary agreement so the schematic drawings could be produced and delivered to the judge’s attorney in support of the court-ordered courthouse process.
Board members discussed the practical benefits of getting schematic information to the judge’s counsel quickly and noted that any further schematic or design work for other county facilities could be added later if needed.
