Motion to withhold Wind and Solar Ordinance from Planning Commission fails 2-3

Commissioner Kayla Schmidt moved, seconded by Commissioner Dwight Nelson, that the County should not send the Wind and Solar Ordinance back to the Planning Commission. The motion failed on a 2-3 vote, with Commissioners Chad Metz, Jerrel Olson and Mark Gail recorded as opposed. After the vote, Commissioner Chad Metz moved to reopen the ordinance for discussion with wind companies; County Attorney Matt Franzese clarified that reopening was not required to hold such discussions and Metz rescinded his motion. Chair Jerrel Olson said he will contact wind companies about attending a future meeting.
