The Traverse County Commission unanimously approved a gravel lease with Gerald Murphy after a departmental update from County Engineer Chad Gillespie and Highway Supervisor Brian Koch. The action was taken on a motion by Commissioner Chad Metz, seconded by Commissioner Kayla Schmidt.
Gillespie told the board that meetings are scheduled with Arthur and Folsom Townships and that he recently met with representatives from the City of Browns Valley about a project planned for 2028 and a grant application tied to that work. He also updated commissioners on the City of Wheaton’s sidewalk project on the south side of 1st Avenue North (from 12th Street North to 16th Street North). Gillespie said requests for quotes for dust control have been distributed and that the CSAH 9 project and associated box culvert work are currently being advertised for bids.
