Ira board authorizes VOCA to repair cemetery stones, approves supplies and cleaning reimbursement

The board authorized the Vermont Old Cemetery Association (VOCA) to proceed with recommended stone repairs after a walkthrough reported by Jean Marie Raiche. According to the minutes, Tom Giffin, president of VOCA, "noted that some of the stones have been power washed which degrades the stone and causes yellowing and grainy surfaces." VOCA recommends D2 biological solution as the approved cleaner, and VOCA requires written permission to work on stones.
The board voted to give VOCA written permission to work in the cemetery, approved purchasing one ton of Shurpac for use with a dump trailer for ease of use, and agreed to reimburse the purchase of D2 cleaner. The minutes also record that there are burials scheduled in May and June and that the cemetery lawnmower is at GT Outdoor for repairs.
