RRPC seeks Ira participation in southwest sub-region disaster cooperative; meeting on May 6

Maggie O’Brien of the Rutland Regional Planning Commission told the Ira Select Board that the regional disaster cooperative initiative has subdivided the region into sub-regions to identify common emergency trends. She said Ira is assigned to the southwest sub-region alongside Poultney, Middletown Springs, and Wells and announced an in-person, three-hour facilitated session set for May 6.
O’Brien requested that three representatives from Ira attend the May 6 session. Bob Toppin, identified in the minutes as Ira’s Emergency Management Director, agreed to attend; the board will recruit two additional representatives to join him. The board tabled further discussion to the next meeting for finalization of attendees.
