Commission adopts revised Planning Commission bylaws and updates Article 2 of the Unified Development Code

Harvey County commissioners voted unanimously April 1 to adopt revisions to the Harvey County Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals bylaws (Resolution 2025-11) and to update Article 2, Administrative Bodies, of the Unified Development Code (Resolution 2025-12). Planning Director Karen Rothe said the changes bring bylaws into alignment with state statutes and modernize procedures for electronic records and meeting practice.
The planning commission held a public hearing on March 4, 2025; no members of the public spoke on the item and the commission recommended adoption. The board’s resolutions incorporate the updated bylaws and the official district map and take effect upon publication per the resolution language.
