The Harvey County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a contract with Straight-Line Striping to perform up to 36.9 miles of pavement striping in 2025 at a price of $1,355 per mile. Road & Bridge Superintendent Jim Meier told commissioners Straight-Line has been the county’s primary striping contractor since 2012 and that this year's work includes about 19.59 miles of new pavement plus older lane miles.
The item was brought forward after Meier reported the contractor quoted roughly $50,000 for the work (reflecting the per-mile increase). Commissioner Becky Reimer moved to approve the contract and Commissioner Terry Scott seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The expenditure will be paid from the Road & Bridge traffic control line item and is within the department’s budgeted funds.
