Under old business the board considered a motion regarding an application for tax-exempt status for Farm #3 pasture ground enrolled in a U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) program. Mr. Niewold moved to discuss the application; after board discussion Mrs. C. Ihrke and Mr. Nuss requested further review before action at a future meeting.
Also in old business, the minutes relate that former Treasurer Whitcome and staff had prepared spreadsheets to correct payroll errors attributed to a Wipfli payroll transition. Clerk & Recorder Amy Frederick said she learned of the issues through the Finance minutes on April 10, 2026, has begun fixing the problems and will work with the nominated Republican treasurer candidate Taylor Burnett to address remaining items. Frederick told the board the two payroll systems "were not supposed to talk, uploads are to be made from the new to the old system."
