The Webster Board of Commissioners voted April 2 to accept the Proposed FY 2025-26 Draft Budget totaling $165,800 and approved a FY 2024-25 Budget Amendment #1 to reclassify funds for identified overages. Mayor Tracy Rodes told the board that Duke Energy rate increases would affect projections and noted rate changes: 8.3% beginning Jan. 15, 2024; 3.3% in 2025; and a projected 3% increase in 2026.
Commissioners identified specific line items requiring amendment — an office printer purchase, radar speed signs under Traffic Enforcement, a payroll software upgrade, and an additional $500 for financial services — and approved Budget Amendment #1 unanimously. Commissioner Leigh Anne Young moved to approve the budget amendment and Commissioner Brandon Core seconded.
