Long Prairie backs Todd County active-transportation grant to add sidewalk, lighting near elementary school

The Long Prairie City Council voted Jan. 8 to support Todd County’s application to the Minnesota State Active Transportation (AT) Infrastructure Program for a project that would add lighting, a sidewalk adjacent to a parking lot, and a crosswalk leading to county offices near Long Prairie Elementary School.
The resolution lists an estimated construction cost of $237,045.90 and requests $56,168 in AT funding to cover roughly half of selected mobilization, lighting and sidewalk costs; the remaining funds would come from the Todd County Facilities Capital Improvement Fund. The council approved the resolution unanimously.
