The Piedmont City Council approved its consent calendar unanimously, including a first amendment to the agreement with Kimley Horn for additional municipal stormwater/compliance services in an amount not to exceed $53,200.
Members of the public praised a parklet and bioswale concept included in the consent materials for Fairview/Grand Avenue. "There's a lovely plan on page 11, but really it's gonna be a parklet, but also operate as a bioswale and help the city comply with green infrastructure," Rick Schiller said in support. Garrett Keating urged staff to consider similar low-impact measures elsewhere in town, pointing to opportunities for gravity-fed stormwater treatment in other locations.
After those comments the council moved and seconded the consent calendar and voted aye on all items; the mayor announced the consent calendar passed unanimously and thanked staff for their work.
