Randolph County reports about 66% turnout; canvass set for Nov. 12

County Clerk Brenda Wiseman told the Randolph County Commission on Nov. 7 that the county experienced a high turnout in the Nov. 5 general election — about 66% of registered voters — and that her office fielded many calls directing voters to polling locations.
Wiseman said the county received unofficial results from election night and that the Canvass is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 9:00 a.m. in the commission meeting room to review and decide several provisional ballots. "There was a high turnout for the Election with around 66% of the registered voters in the County voting," Wiseman said. She noted most provisional ballots are from voters who had been canceled for inactivity but returned to vote this cycle.
The commission did not report any major operational problems on Election Day. The Canvassing Board will examine provisional ballots and finalize the county's certified results during the Nov. 12 session.
