Residents read nationwide 'election integrity' resolution during Piedmont public comment

A delegation from United Sovereigns of America asked the Piedmont City Council to add a resolution demanding action on election-roll accuracy to a future agenda, reading sections of an analysis they said documented alleged registration and vote-count irregularities.

"Whereas the analysis of the California 2022 general election has uncovered evidence of massive inaccuracies that appear to violate both federal and state laws," Deborah Gelber read into the record, presenting a multi-part resolution that lists alleged counts of ineligible or uncertain registrations and votes. Gerald Petchenuk, who closed the group's presentation, urged the council to "put this resolution on the agenda for the next city council meeting where you can vote to join us in support of fair, honest, and valid elections." The presenters said their research used official data and asked local officials to amplify the findings to county, state and federal authorities.

Council did not act on the request during the meeting. Speakers distributed a packet of materials to the clerk and asked staff to add the resolution to a forthcoming agenda; no council member moved to place the item on tonight's agenda. The city provided no substantive response beyond acknowledging that the Alameda County Registrar of Voters is the county agency responsible for administering local elections and that the city clerk can direct residents to that office for assistance.
