Randolph County approves multiple budget revisions, K9 funding and intents to award courtroom renovation bid

Budget actions included a $9,909 state budget revision for the Sheriff's Office to adjust law-enforcement overtime and to budget Governor's Highway Safety Program (GHSP) funds; a $25,750 Court Security grant increase to purchase court security equipment; a $6,000 Emergency Services increase tied to an IMP Snow Cat Restoration Grant; and a $7,500 increase in Law Enforcement K9 contract services funded by an AKC Reunite Adopt A K9 Cop Grant receipt. All revisions passed the Commission's votes.
On capital projects, the Commission opened two bids for circuit courtroom renovations — J.C. Construction ($240,703) and Veritas Contracting ($218,785) — and approved the intent to award to the lowest and best bidder, Veritas, to allow material ordering and a pre-construction meeting scheduled for Oct. 17, 2024.
