Commission hears CIP priorities: bridge, pickleball resurfacing, irrigation, Triangle Park design

Staff presented the parks capital improvement priorities for the coming period, listing funded line items and near‑term steps. The Linda Beach play replacement carries a $400,000 budget; staff reported $100,000 budgeted for ordering a prefabricated pedestrian bridge at Piedmont Park with additional Prop 68 contribution; $100,000 is set aside for pickleball court resurfacing pending council approval; and $105,000 is budgeted for pathway repairs.
"We have contracts in place" for the bridge and staff reported a preconstruction meeting with the contractor, while noting fabrication and delivery schedules will influence construction timing. The Triangle Park Dearing Family Memorial has design and installation funding of $400,000 approved by council, staff said, and the park sustainability study and irrigation retrofit are in earlier planning stages.
Commissioners praised the prioritization and noted many projects are dependent on bids and design outcomes. Staff said many of the items are ready to move into design and public outreach phases and that lower bid results could expand what is possible within the allocated amounts.
