The Vernon County Finance Committee voted unanimously on Jan. 13 to move forward with a 2025 debt issuance based on a recommendation from municipal finance adviser Ehlers & Associates.
Ehlers reported a recent debt sale at 3.511% and said Vernon County’s bonds should receive a better rating and a lower interest rate if issued now. Supervisor John Pedretti moved to proceed “as recommended by Ehlers & Assoc.,” and Supervisor Charlie Jacobson seconded; the motion carried on a voice vote with all voting in favor. The committee did not set a precise sale date in the minutes.
