County receives community corrections savings report and OEM air-quality update at Elkins Middle School

Erin Golden, director of North Central Community Corrections, provided the commission with a written report showing the program currently has 128 participants and has saved Randolph County $754,003.20 in regional jail bills so far this fiscal year.
Randolph County 911/OEM Director Mike Miller told commissioners his office is continuing air-quality readings at Elkins Middle School and that "they are still doing readings but there is nothing showing up." Miller also said the 911 roof is not leaking after work by a Clarksburg roofing firm, that an insurer has declined a $1,200 bill citing a separate plumbing-related cause, that an outstanding Motorola invoice from last year remains unpaid, and that staff are pursuing grants for HAM radios in case radio communications fail.
