During its Sept. 19 session, the Randolph County Commission approved several funding and grant items. Commissioners approved release of $110,000 already budgeted for the Randolph County Ambulance Authority for FY2024/2025 and approved a $1,500 donation from Hotel/Motel Tax funds to the Elkins Volunteer Fire Department to support the Mountain State Forest Festival Fireman's Parade.
The commission also ratified signatures to accept a $30,000 PRO grant for PRO officers in schools, approved a lease with Citynet to add a phone line in the Prosecutor's Office, and agreed to contribute $6,610.87 from Hotel/Motel Tax funds toward the purchase of a third scoreboard for Elkins Little League. Commissioner Siler noted the ambulance funds "have already been budgeted" and the request was for release of those funds.
Multiple in‑house budget revisions for the Sheriff's Office related to AHIDTA, JAG pass‑through adjustments, equipment and uniform lines were approved as presented.
