Randolph County readies for Nov. 5 general election; absentee ballots, polling schedule and pollworkers set

County Clerk Brenda Wiseman updated the commission Sept. 19 on election preparations for the Nov. 5, 2024 general election. She said the clerk's office has received approximately 105 absentee ballot applications and will begin mailing absentee ballots Sept. 20. The last day to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 30 and the last day to register or change registration is Oct. 15.
Wiseman said early voting will run Oct. 23 through Nov. 2 at both locations used previously and that on election night results will be read aloud in the courtroom and copies distributed; the canvass is scheduled for Nov. 12. The commission approved poll worker lists submitted by the local Republican and Democratic executive committees.
The commission also noted staff will announce the public machine testing schedule once arrangements are complete.
