WVU Extension reports summer programs and the Commission approves new administrative assistant

WVU Randolph County Extension reported 150 summer campers and a successful county fair, and the Commission approved hiring Mikea Franklin as an administrative assistant pending background check, starting Sept. 9 at $29,500.
Hannah Fincham, WVU Extension Agent and County Program Coordinator, reported that Randolph County Extension served about 150 campers during the summer and that the Randolph County Fair "went really well." Fincham said the office will focus on school programs in the coming months and introduced new program assistant Katie Dillon, who will primarily work in schools.
Fincham asked the Commission to approve hiring an Administrative Assistant; the Extension recommended Mikea Franklin, who would start Sept. 9, 2024 at an annual salary of $29,500 with full county benefits. Commissioner David Kesling moved to approve the hire pending a successful background check; the Commission approved the motion unanimously and noted the Extension will complete the background screening before the new hire begins.
