Randolph County approves $25,000 toward YMCA pool filtration replacement

The Randolph County Commission on Sept. 19 approved a $25,000 contribution from ARP funds to help replace the filtration system at the Elkins‑Randolph County YMCA pool. The YMCA estimated the total project cost at $100,000 and told the commission the current system ‘‘has reached the end of its operational life.’'
Sid Gillispie, executive director of the YMCA, said the organization "is very appreciative of anything the Commission could do to help." Commissioner David Kesling moved to approve allocating $25,000 from ARP funds; the motion passed unanimously. The commission noted ARP funds may be used to support nonprofit facilities and directed county staff to process the disbursement.
