Student board members report on campus activities, new field and rallies

Student board members gave short reports about the start of the school year, extracurricular activities and use of new facilities.
A student representative said Millennium High School held a YMCA community-building trip on Aug. 19, hosted a new-student lunch on Aug. 21 and will hold a senior fest on Sept. 6 that will allow seniors to miss part of the day for an offsite activity. Another student reported club-day forms were due Sept. 4 and praised the new Witter field, noting cross-country, football and other teams are already using it.
Trustees thanked the students for their reports and noted that student perspectives help the board understand school culture. The board also welcomed two student board members, Maher Batcher and Shakila Zuberi, and said it had met with them for agenda review.
