Ringgold County engineer reports mowing, stockpiling of chip rock and roadside maintenance

The Ringgold County Board of Supervisors heard a report July 27 from County Engineer Jared Johnson on routine secondary-roads operations.
Johnson said a tractor and mower were working to mow vegetation along paved roadsides and Farm-to‑Market gravel roads in the northeastern portion of the county, and that chip rock has been hauled and stockpiled in preparation for an upcoming seal‑coat project. He also reported that a shoulder disk was operating along P27 and J23.
The update included testing and material-preparation details elsewhere in the meeting: the department collected samples to a depth of 6 inches for proctor testing to determine optimal moisture content and maximum density for field targets for resurfacing work. Supervisors took no formal action on the routine operations report during the meeting.
