Commission approves SAHA application and authorizes committee to award funds
Summary
Traverse County approved the Statewide Affordable Housing Aid (SAHA) flyer and application and delegated authority to the SAHA committee to approve awards using the funds received to date, with a possible subsequent round next year.
County Coordinator Lisa Zahl presented the SAHA application and outreach flyer for Traverse County's allocation of Statewide Affordable Housing Aid. The Commission approved the flyer and application unanimously (motion by Chad Metz, seconded by Dwight Nelson).
The Board also authorized the SAHA committee to approve awards, with a stipulation that the county will use only the funds it has received so far for this round and may conduct another round the following year. The authorization allows the committee to make award decisions without returning each award to the full Board, provided the awards stay within the available funding.
