The North Middlesex Regional School District School Committee convened July 29, handled two substantive agenda items — an updated JKAA policy and a fitness court acceptance/MOA — and adjourned after formal votes. There were no public comments on the agenda.
Chair Lisa Martin opened the meeting at 5:02 p.m., listed attendance and introduced administrators. The committee heard from Erin Upton, director of special education, on statutory and regulatory changes affecting time‑out and seclusion policy; the committee adopted the attorneys' recommended language for JKAA by a 5–1 vote. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Reese presented a draft MOA for fitness equipment donated by the town of Townsend; the board accepted the gift, approved the MOA, and authorized the chair to sign, each motion passing 5–1.
Members thanked staff for quick work preparing the MOA. The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn that passed unanimously. Administration will report back with updated procedures and confirmation of town approvals as the next steps.
