The Village of Makanda’s Streets & Road Committee reported that Slow-Children Playing signs have been installed on McGuire Road and Crackersneck, and the board discussed resurfacing McGuire Road in 2025. President Tina Shingleton said Trustee Allen provided bid information and that, if Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds are not used, formal bidding is not required; nevertheless, she recommended soliciting two to three bids.
Shingleton said she will prepare a bid information sheet for the Streets & Roads committee and aims to have bids ready for approval at the January meeting. Legal counsel advised the board that if certificates of deposit (CD) funds are applied to pay resurfacing costs, the board must approve a resolution authorizing their use.
