The Village of Makanda Board of Trustees voted unanimously to adopt Ordinance 2024-5, the village’s tax levy for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2025, Clerk Leslie Yambert reported. "An Ordinance Levying Taxes for All Corporate Purposes For The Village of Makanda, Illinois, Jackson County, Illinois, For The Fiscal Year Beginning May 1, 2025 And Ending April 30, 2026" was presented by the clerk and approved on an individual voice vote with all members present voting yes.
Clerk Yambert said the ordinance will be filed at the Jackson County Courthouse as required. No roll-call vote totals were recorded in the minutes beyond the recorded unanimous voice vote. The ordinance adoption was listed under ordinances and resolutions on the meeting agenda and recorded in the minutes as carried at the Dec. 3, 2024 meeting.
