Board approves tar purchase for crackfiller and notes contractor schedule for Baptist Hill Road

The Village Board approved Danny Walker’s request to purchase an additional load of tar for the village’s Crackfill Melter Applicator to support ongoing road maintenance. The board granted the approval during discussion of street and road needs.
Trustee Wolff told the board that contractor Penninger expects to begin work on Baptist Hill Road on Aug. 19 or 20. Trustee Hilliard said Illini has not scheduled any specific dates yet for village roads. President Tina Shingleton said she will post notices at the Post Office and the Boardwalk to inform residents of upcoming work.
