Legislators said the program helps farmers identify and apply for grant opportunities and that a prior $40,000 allocation from the 2024 budget had been only half expended.
Sponsor Legislator Randy Brown said the program served applicants across the county (from multiple towns) and that roughly 25% of applicants were BIPOC farmers; committee members argued the program helps leverage hundreds of thousands of dollars in external grants and provides equity‑focused technical assistance. The resolution passed unanimously.
