County awards reuse services contract to Finger Lakes Reuse and endorses deconstruction for materials recovery

Ann Corman outlined a related, nonbinding resolution (Resolution C) supporting deconstruction and the reuse of building materials to reduce construction and demolition waste, lower embodied carbon, preserve historic materials and expand workforce and small‑business opportunities. The PEAK committee noted construction and demolition debris accounts for an estimated 46% of New York State waste. Supporters described the contract and resolution as complementary steps to move reuse from policy into funded operations. The motions passed unanimously.
