County administration gave a mid-meeting update on several personnel and facilities actions. The County Administrator (introduced in the packet as Corsa/Corsa Acuffi) told legislators the county is near completion of the health commissioner hiring process and hopes to extend an offer by the end of the month. "We are almost done with the whole health commissioner hiring process. We are hoping to offer the position by the end of the month," the administrator said.
The administrator also said face-to-face interviews for Department of Social Services will begin next week and that the highway director, Jeff Smith, has announced his retirement and the recruitment process will follow completion of the health and DSS hires. Staff reported the government facility is being scoped for deconstruction and designers are preparing plans; county staff said they are exploring Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) opportunities to support relocation and design work.
