Council authorizes property appraisals to acquire land for Tabor Circle drainage work

The council adopted a resolution authorizing acquisition of property by purchase or condemnation to construct drainage improvements in the Tabor Circle and Tabor Road area. President Beck said the resolution authorizes agreements with Tillman Consulting LLC to appraise property and with Smith, PC to assist in obtaining title.
A council member moved to adopt the resolution; after a second the motion carried by voice vote. According to the reading, the authorization will allow staff to begin appraisal and negotiation with property owners to secure right-of-way or fee simple interests needed for drainage construction.
